The Meeting House Church

Modified Design-Build project to construct a 2 & 3 story church addition to the existing worship facility in Carlisle, PA.

Project Goals

The 37,000 sq. ft. addition included a 640 seat theater-style auditorium for contemporary services - an owner initiated change that we designed and self-performed. We also constructed secured “Kidmunity” classrooms on lower levels for the children’s ministry from birth to grade 5. In addition there’s a “Connection Cafe” (large social hall area) and 2nd floor sanctuary, elevator addition and new restrooms, plus office and classroom renovations in existing building.

Results

Lobar was able to create $480,000 savings from original contract by implementing an expedited schedule and value engineering – a savings of almost 8%. Project also received the Craftsman of the Year Award for Superintendent.

I was so impressed at how you worked with us and the architect to come up with such a functional addition that transitions from the old to the new so well. You have a great design team that assisted in bringing our visions to reality. I also appreciated the construction team that was assembled for this project. All of Lobar employees and the subcontractors performed their work in a very professional manner and interacted so well with our church building team and the church staff. We are very pleased with the quality of construction that resulted from this effort.
