A Special Opportunity
A Lobar “At Risk” CM project, this project involved the 34,480 sq. ft. conversion of an old bottling plant into the new home for the Tri-County Association for the Blind in Harrisburg, PA
Lobar Construction Management, and its affiliates, are always looking to give back to the local communities. Thus, when an organization like Tri-County Association for the Blind asked Lobar to manage the construction of its new facility, the opportunity was proudly accepted.
AUM Architecture had their hands full trying to design an old bottling plant into a fully-functional office, assembly, and warehouse facility that would meet all of Tri-County’s needs. This renovation features the installations of an elevator, a mezzanine, and an elevated walkway. The building also houses a pre-fabricated Quonset hut that serves as their community room. Lobar Construction Management was thrilled to have been a part of this monumental expansion.
“Lobar Construction Management provided outstanding service to us in our recent $2.2 Million building renovation. Because we are a non-profit entity employing and serving people who are blind and vision-impaired, we needed a construction manager who could understand both our unique facilities needs and our financial limitations. LCM fit the bill perfectly, and creatively helped us value-engineer the project to reduce costs without affecting the functioning of the renovated space. LCM also worked diligently to avoid construction delays and hassles, and quickly addressed and resolved the minor issues that naturally arise in any such project. We are forever grateful to LCM for its vital role in making our vision a reality.”
