CDSD has been a long-term client for Lobar Associates. Since 2012, projects have steadily come in over the last 7 years. But, in spring 2018 they asked us to tackle more than our normal 1 or 2 “summer” projects. This time they needed design-build services to relocate secured entries in 4 of their elementary schools in addition to the current 2 summer projects!
Our pre-construction team tackled all the required design at each school in time for us to start demo as soon as the summer bells rang. In a nutshell, here’s what we accomplished in 12 short weeks
Mountain View Elementary School:. Scope included new secured entry, and the relocation of the admin space, nurse, faculty rooms and 2 special education rooms.
Middle Paxton Elementary School: Project which required a entire new covered secured entry as well as relocation of the admin spaces. There were also 3 new flexible group spaces created in the old admin space.
North Side Elementary School: Scope included a large new secured entry, and the relocation of the admin space, faculty rooms and one kindergarten room.
Rutherford Elementary School: Here they created a new secured entrance with relocated admin spaces. They also relocated their faculty room, nurse and a special education room.
Lobar Design & Engineering worked closely with each school’s administration to custom design each space to best meet the needs of the students. All work was completed on schedule – and the new year started with students extra safe and secure.
